Yesterday while looking up obits at the Victoria Public Library I came
across the following obit. I hope it helps someone on the list.

Holmes - At the residence on Oct 12, 1954 Bessie May Holmes, aged 70 years
born in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia of 1246 Palmer Road, a resident of Victoria
for the past 15 years and formerly of Winnipeg, Man. She leaves her husband
Guy; one son, Wing-Cmdr. A. R. Holmes, R.C.A.F. of Ottawa; two
grandchildren, one sister, Mrs Charles Nelson of Springhill, N.S. Funeral
services will be held in McCall Bros. Floral Funeral Chapel on Friday
afternoon, Oct 15 at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Royal Oak Burial Park.
