I figure when Alexander Fisher's wife, Annie May MacDonald died in 1946,
son, Arthur George Fisher, born about Mar 1939, was placed in foster care
and raised by Pierson "Peter" Brown and his wife, Edith May Lorraine/Parson
of Parrsboro.

OBITUARY: Alexander Fisher
Alexander Fisher, 74, died suddenly at his home, 8 North Street, on
Saturday, December 14th. He had been ill for some seven weeks. Son of the
late Charlie and Mary Fisher, he was born on Lake Road, Tatamagouche, N.S.
on September 5th, 1895. He received his early education at Tatamagouche and
for some years assisted his father with the farm. He was twice married. His
first wife was Annie May MacDonald, who passed away on March 18, 1947. On
June 30th, 1957, he married Irene Mary McGraw of Minto, N.B., who with
children of both families survive. Members of his first family are Layton
Fisher of Kentville; Arthur Fisher and Helen (Mrs. Douglas Sharpe), of
Springhill. Surviving from the second marriage are Sidney Fisher of
Springhill; Thomas and Carolyn, at home. A sister, Mrs. Carrie Mooring and a
half sister, Mrs. Gladys Porter, both of Springhill, also survive, along
with 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.Nine brothers
predeceased him. Some fifty years ago Mr. Fisher moved to Springhill. He
accepted employment in the coal mines where he worked for forty years,
retiring in 1958 after the disaster. The remains rested at his home where
the funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 17th, at 2 o'clock,
conducted by Capt. Seabright of the Salvation Army of which Mr. Fisher was a
member. Mrs. Gwen Arseneau, a friend of the family, sang two numbers, "How
Great Thou Art" and "The Old Rugged Cross", accompanied by Capt. Seabright.
Interment was in Hillside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Messrs Bert Vance,
Claude Chatfield, Roy Pettigrew, Ralph Canning, Herbert Spence, Archie
Martin, representing the Orange Lodge. Attending the funeral were relatives
and friends from Amherst, Kentville and Cape Breton. The many beautiful
floral and other tributes were mute evidence of the high esteem in which Mr.
Fisher was held in the community.

OBITUARY
FISHER, Irene Mary - 67, Springhill Junction, formerly of Joggins,
Cumberland County, died Friday in All Saints Hospital, Springhill. Born in
Minto, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Bella (Williams)
McGraw. She was a member of Springhill Corps of the Salvation Army and a
former member of Royal Canadian Legion branch 17 auxiliary. She is survived
by two sons, Sidney, Parrsboro; Thomas, British Columbia; a stepdaughter,
Mrs. Helen Rogers, Springhill Junction; two stepsons, Arthur Fisher,
Springhill; Layton Fisher, Kentville; three sisters, Mrs. Mona Downey,
Toronto; Alice (Mrs. Ross Cormier), Gertie (Mrs. William Canton), Bertha
(Mrs. Sid Fisher), all of Amherst; three brothers, William, Joggins;
Patrick, Amherst; Edward, Cape Breton; 18 grandchildren. She was
predeceased by her first husband, Alexander Burbine; her second husband,
Alexander Fisher; a daughter, Carol; two infants sons; two brothers,
Camille, Ernest; a granddaughter; two step-grandchildren. The body is in
A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today and
Sunday, where funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, Lieut. Spring burial in
Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.

Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst. Born in Parrsboro, he was a son of
the late Alexander and Annie Mae (MacDonald) Fisher. He was a member of
Springhill Corps of the Salvation Army; Cumberland County Wildlife
Association; Marksmen Association and an active outdoors person and
conservationist. He worked for Canadian Salt Co. Ltd., Pugwash as a heavy
equipment operator and shipper. He is survived by his wife, the former Jean
Shirley Ann Brown; three daughters: Annie Mae (Mrs. William Nelson),
Edmonton, Alb.; Myrna Jean (Mrs. Stephen Logan), Amherst Point, Cumberland
Co.; Treasure, at home; two sons; Philip, New Glasgow; Arthur Jr. at home;
two sisters; Mrs. Helen Rogers, Springhill Junction; Barbara (Mrs. Hollis
Forbes), Shilo, Man.; three brothers; Layton, Kentville; Thomas, Vancouver,
B.C.; Curtis, Elora, Ont.; six half-brothers; Lewis Brown, Douglas Meekins,
both of Parrsboro; Michael Brown, Vermont; Daniel Brown, Clayton Brown, both
of British Columbia; Donald Brown, Amherst; three half-sisters; Deborah
Wosley, Moose River, Cumberland Co.; Heather Brown, Parrsboro; Brenda Brown,
Halifax; two grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn;
brother Sidney; two half-brothers, John and David. Cremation has taken
place. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in A. H. Brown Funeral Home,
Springhill, where a memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Lieut.
Patrick O¹Doherty and Lieut. Lisa O¹Doherty officiating. Burial will be in
Hillside Cemetery, Springhill. Donations may be made to any charity.
