Friday, August 16, 1968 at 8 p.m. When Captain Seabridge united in marriage,
Betty Bernice Sterling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Laurie Sterling, Springhill
to Marvin Joseph James MacAloney, son of Mrs. Myles Bennett, Canning, N.S.

Sterling, niece of the bride while Best Man was Merton MacAloney, brother of
the groom)

BAKER, Mary Olive - 83, Halifax, passed away July 29, 2008, in the Halifax
Infirmary, QEII. Born in Parrsboro, she was a daughter of the late Merton
and Rose (Corkum) MacAloney. She was employed for 17 years with Yellow Cab
as a parking attendant and 20 years with Look Ho Ho Restaurant, Halifax.
Mary was a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary with the Army, Navy and
Air Force Club, Branch No. 373; life member and president of the Ladies
Auxiliary of Vimy Legion Branch No. 27. She was also an avid bingo, card and
dart player. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Daniel; sons,
Marvin MacAloney, Kentville; Merton (Cathy) MacAloney, Springhill; Kalvin
(Jeanette) Bennett, Kentville; Kenneth (Joyce) Bennett, Summerside, P.E.I.;
sister, Kathleen Sutherland; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by daughter, Margaret Rose Benoit; brothers, Floyd
MacAloney, Richard MacAloney. Thanks to close friend Elizabeth Nicholson. A
memorial service will take place 2:30 p.m. Saturday, August 2, in J.A. Snow
Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St., Halifax. A Graveside Committal Service will
be held in Parrsboro United Cemetery, Sunday, August 1, at 2:30 p.m. In lieu
of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. E-mail
