I show Emma Bower "Amy" Priest as m/1 Gesner Robert Dowe, s/o Samuel Dowe
and Matilda Halliday on 18 Apr 1923 at Grace United Church, Port Greville. I
suspect a possible separation of Gesner and Amy as he's not listed as the
other 2 daughters in Jesse's obit. are as well as in Gesner's obit., she's
not mentioned.
Jesse's sister, Winnifred Alberta m/1 Gilbert Wall; m/2 Mariner S. Trenholm;
m/3 Hollis Bernard Anderson. Sister, Arthemus E. Priest m/1 Thomas E.
Trenholm.

OBITUARY: Jesse E. Priest
Jesse Elliott Priest, 85, well known in the lumber business, passed away
suddenly in Bayfield, N.B., February 1 at the home of his sister where he
was visiting. Born at River Hebert, he resided at Diligent River. His wife
predeceased him nine years ago. He is survived by three daughters and four
sons, (Emma) Mrs. Earl England, Amherst; (Amy) Mrs. Dowe, Diligent River;
(Muriel) Mrs. Gleason Graham, Springhill; Jesse and Gilbert, Diligent River;
Frank, of Wharton; and Earl, Belmont. Also surviving ate two sisters, Mrs.
Thomas Trenholm of Cape Tormentine; and Mrs. Winnie Anderson in Bayfield;
and one brother, James in Ashmore, Digby Co. The funeral was held February 4
at the Anglican Church, Diligent River, with Rev. A.B. Pitcairn officiating.
Interment was at the Anglican Cemetery, Diligent River.

The death of Mr. Gesner Dowe occurred Thursday, March 22, 1962 at the home
of his sister, Mrs. Clarence Lamb. Mr. Dowe died at the age 76. He was the
son of Samuel & Matilda Dowe. He leaves to mourn two sisters and three
brothers: Mrs. Clarence Lamb, Mrs. William Manuge, Mr. Samuel Dowe and Mr.
Charles Dowe all of Parrsboro and Mr. Orey Dowe of Amherst. Funeral services
were held Sunday from Smith's Funeral Home. Interment was in Baptist
Cemetery, Parrsboro.
