Obit: MacALONEY, Phillip Reginald
MacALONEY, Phillip Reginald "Phil" - 75, Port Williams, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2007, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Woodside, Kings Co., he was a son of the late Clinton and Helen (Smith) MacAloney. He was initially employed as a meat cutter and later worked for Kent Vinegar in Wolfville and Sarsfield's in Canning. He was then employed with the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission in Berwick retiring as Assistant Manager. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the gun club. He is survived by his wife, the former Clara A. Hatt; stepchildren, Wendy (Dennis) Gaskell, Kentville; Susan (Wade) Stewart, New Brunswick; Norman Bennett, Windsor; god child, Pam (Steven) Power, Dartmouth; sister, Miriam "Mim" Lloyd, New Minas; niece, Debbie (Jud) Porter, London, England; nephew, Derek Lloyd, Ontario; several stepgrandchildren and step great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brother-in-law, Melvin "Mel" Lloyd; aunts, Lillian Smith and Kaye Smith; uncle, George Smith. Cremation has taken place under the direction of White Family Funeral Home, Kentville and there will be no visitation by family request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 28, in White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Rev. Robert Billings officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the family plot in Hillaton Cemetery, Kings County. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, or charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to White Family Funeral Home, Kentville.
