OBITUARY: Stewart J. Welton
The funeral service for the late Stewart J. Welton was held from the
Parrsboro United Baptist Church on Monday afternoon, November 25th, with the
Rev. C.C. Jones officiating. The hymns sung were: "Safe In The Arms Of
Jesus" and "Unto The Hills". Interment was made in the Baptist Cemetery. The
pallbearers were: C.H. Cameron, S.E. O'Regan, C.R. Dyas and Harry Dickie. In
failing health for the past two years, the late Mr. Welton passed away
suddenly at his home on Friday, November 22nd. Born at Diligent River,
seventy years ago, a son of the late Jessie and Mary Welton, he resided in
Parrsboro most of his lifetime and was one of the town's most respected
citizens. Surviving are his wife, the former Irene Brayley of Brookville;
three sons, Hollis, Clayton and Harold, all of Parrsboro; and two daughters,
(Bessie) Mrs. Arthur Arseneau of Shediac; and Alice, at home. Also surviving
are one brother and two sisters, Austin Welton, Mrs. Herbert Canning and
Mrs. William Welton, all of Diligent River.
