CROSSMAN, Edna May - With great sadness we announce the passing of Edna May Crossman, age 87, on Sunday, November 4, 2007, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Berwick, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mabel (McDow) Salsman. Edna worked for many years on the housekeeping staff of Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and quilt making as a pastime. She was an adherent of Christ Church, Amherst. Edna is survived by daughters, Marilyn Hawkes, Brenda Melanson and Gloria (Delbert) Fraser, all of Amherst; Eleanor (James) Perry, Truemanville; Heather (Peter) Maillet, Fredericton, N.B.; Doris (Thane) Walton, Thunder Bay, Ont.; Germaine (Norman) Botterill and Joyce Van De Walle, both of British Columbia; son, William (Carol), Amherst; brothers, Blake (Lillian) Salsman, Somerset; Robert (Jean) Salsman, Waterville; Oliver (Phyllis) Salsman, Morrisburg, Ont.; sisters, Doris (Leslie) Garnett, Margaretsville; Mary Dolson, Johnstown, Ont.; sisters-in-law, Laura Salsman, Cambridge; Esther Salsman, Berwick; Sylvia (Roy) Rushton, Tidehead, N.B.; brother-in-law, Stanley Avery, Ontario; 25 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her neighbour and very dear friend, Marguerite MacKenzie. Edna was predeceased by her husband, Medley; brothers, Ralph, Garfield and Clifford Salsman; sisters, Edith Johnstone and Phyllis Avery. Visitation was held on Monday from 6-9 p.m. in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906). Funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. in Christ Church, Amherst, with Archdeacon Glenn Eason officiating. Interment will take place in the Amherst Cemetery.
