OBITUARY: Mrs. Sabra MacAleese
Mrs. Sabra MacAleese, widow of the late Daniel MacAleese who predeceased her
twenty-four years ago, passed away at her home in New Prospect on October
30th. She was a well known and highly respected citizen. Seventy-eight years
of age, the late Mrs. MacAleese was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
William Brown of Lakelands. In failing health for some time, she spent
eighteen months in Newcastle with her daughter, Mrs. Vincent McNamara,
returning to her home here in August. Left to mourn her loss are five
daughters, (Cleo) Mrs. Hugh Clarke, Pugwash; (Emma) Mrs. Justin Fowler,
Springhill; (Margaret) Mrs. Vincent McNamara, Newcastle; (Phyllis) Mrs.
Donald DeRoche, New York; (Jean) Mrs. Delor Cry, Truro; and four sons,
Donald, Charlie and Robert, all of Parrsboro, and Hugh in New York. The
funeral service was held from St. George's Anglican Church and was conducted
by the rector, Rev. C.R. Harris. The hymns sung were: "There Is No Night In
Heaven", "The King Of Love My Shepherd Is" and "How Sweet The Hour Of
Closing Day". Interment was made in the Anglican Cemetery. The pallbearers
were: Henry McAloney, Joseph and William Storey of Springhill, Maurice
Gilbert, Percy McNamara of Newcastle and Justin Fowler of Springhill.
