Dr. Herbert Carter

Hi Listmates,



As some of you may or may not know Dr. Herbert Carter was a doctor in Port
Elgin. He had a beautiful home in Port Elgin that today is kept in great
repair. A very few years ago it was a B and B. He was born about 1848, the
son of Richard Carter and Milcah Freeze. As some of you will know Milcah was
the daughter of Samuel Freeze and Margaret Wells. His first Edith Fletcher
died young. They had two children.



Dr. Carter remarried someone by the name of Allen. It is my understanding
she was much younger---I am not aware they had a family but do not really
know. I may have a picture of her taken at Dr. Carter's daughter wedding,
but really not sure.



Can anyone tell me who his second was? Who were her parents, did she have
siblings, did they have a family? In short can anyone tell me if Dr.
Carter's second wife, ???? Allen have brothers or sister who may have
descendants in the area today?



I correspond regularly with a great granddaughter of Dr. Carter.



As to my connection ---Milcah was a sister of my great, great grandmother
Mary Freeze who married Thompson Trueman.



I can think of no better place to ask this question.
