Obit: RUSHTON, Richard Micheal "Pood"

RUSHTON, Richard Micheal "Pood" - 58, Aulac, N.B., formerly of Oxford, Cumberland Co., passed away suddenly at his home in Aulac on Sunday, October 21, 2007. Born in Oxford, he was a son of the late Walter L. and Bernice G. (Purdy) Rushton. Prior to his retirement, he spent most of his life in the construction and trucking industries. He was always very interested in his family and always enjoyed family get-togethers. Surviving are daughter, Michelle Dean (Bob), Kentville; grandson, Robbie, Kentville; sisters, Nina Dale (Norman), Easthampton, Mass.; Muriel Embree and Lorraine "Jeannie" Rushton, both of Oxford; Gloria Norton, Calgary, Alta.; brother, Llewelyn Rushton (Ruth) and Leslie Rushton (Nancy), both of Oxford; a number of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by sisters, Elsie Wood, Doreen Polley; brothers, Leon Rushton, Mervil Rushton, Percy Rushton, and Ivan Rushton. Cremation has taken place at the request of the deceased. Visitation will be held Friday, October 26, from 7-9 p.m. with funeral service Saturday, October 27, at 2 p.m., both in Allen's Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford, Rev. Connie Stewart officiating. Interment will take place in Oxford Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
