OBITUARY: William Edward Hillgrove
Relatives here have received word of the death of William Edward Hillgrove,
which occurred at his home in Bath, Me., on Sunday last following some
months illness. A son of the late Robert and Anne MacDonald Hillgrove, he
was brought up on a farm at Green Hill, Parrsboro, facing beautiful Minas
Basin. In his early youth he answered the call of the sea and made this his
life work. His last voyage was three years ago in an American four-masted
schooner to England. He has been residing in Maine since his marriage two
years ago. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sisters, Margaret in
the States; (Mary) Mrs. V.O. MacNamara and (Katherine) Mrs. James Leitch,
both of Chicago, Ill. Interment was made in Bath, Me. on Wednesday.

WEDDINGS: Hillgrove - Haggett
William E. Hillgrove of Parrsboro and Mrs. Jane Woods Haggett were recently
married in Bath, Me., in St. Mary's Church with Rev. Timothy C. Mooney
officiating. Jas. A. Wilson and Mrs. Vivian Brown were the attendants. The
groom is the son of the late Robert and Annie Hillgrove and the bride is a
daughter of the Late Capt. Charles Woods, all of Parrsboro. They have been
life-long acquaintances, their homes having been on adjoining farms at Green
Hill, near Parrsboro. Mr. Hillgrove is a seaman, having been employed on
steam ships and sailing vessels. Mrs. Hillgrove is a registered nurse who
was graduated from the training school of the Bath City, now the Bath
Memorial Hospital, in 1913. She is secretary of the Nurses' Alumnae
Association and is a member of the St. Barnabas Guild for nurses. She is the
widow of the late Eric B. Haggett of Bath. Mr. and Mrs. Hillgrove will
reside at her home, 40 Drummer Street, Bath.
