MacLELLAN, Catherine L. - 83, Oxford, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2007, in High Crest Nursing Home, Springhill. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Stuart and Hazel (Corbett) Rector. Katie worked as a hairdresser for many years from her home. She was well-known as a great cook, and also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and quilting. Katie really enjoyed the company of others, especially her family. Katie is survived by daughter, Murlina (Roy) Mills, Springhill; sons, Jerry (Heather), Truro; Larry (Marion), Oxford; sisters, Eva Rose (Jack) Giddens, Brule Point; Laura (Charles) Fulton and Lorena (Jim) Elaschuk, both of St. Catharines, Ont.; brothers, Harold (Dorothy), Great Village; Gordon (Ollie), St. Catharines, Ont.; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild. Katie was predeceased by her husband, Murlie; sister, Davida; brothers, Ronald and Earl. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today with funeral service at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, both in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home, 5075 Main St., Oxford (447-2930), with Pastor Connie Stewart officiating.
