FLETCHER, Emily Louise
FLETCHER, Emily Louise - 84, New Salem, Cumberland Co., passed away
Wednesday, September 19, 2007, in Gables Lodge, Amherst. Born in London,
Ont., she was a daughter of the late Walter and Emma (Fraser) Baker. She
lived until 1979 in London, Ont., where she was employed at Victoria
Hospital. While in London, she was past president of the Maids of England
Lodge, Princess Victoria No. 1, president of Princess of Wales No. 2 and
president of the Saint George's Ladies Auxiliary. Since moving to Nova
Scotia, she was an active member of the West Cumberland Branch of the
Canadian Red Cross, the Bayview Memorial Auxiliary, the Bayview Memorial
Board of Trustees, Advocate United Church Pastoral Charge, New Salem Ladies
Aid and Advocate Super Seniors. She is survived by her husband, Roy
Fletcher, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first
husband, George Burt; two sisters and a brother. There will be no visitation
by request. A graveside service will be held Monday, September 24, at 11
a.m. in Advocate Cemetery, Rev. Jean Simms-Mills officiating. Memorial
donations may be made to the Bayview Memorial Health Centre or to Advocate
United Church. Arrangements entrusted to Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro.
