SMITH, Barbara Irene
SMITH, Barbara Irene - 58, Shinimicas, Cumberland Co., passed away Saturday,
September 8, 2007, in The Moncton Hospital, Moncton, N.B., surrounded by her
family. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Ronald and Myrtle
(Doyle) Baxter. Barb worked as secretary in several Amherst schools and most
recently West Highlands School on Hickman Street in Amherst. She enjoyed a
variety of puzzles and arts and crafts, especially cross-stitch. Barb is
survived by her husband, Arnold Jr.; son, Scott, Pinawa, Man.; daughter,
Tricia Smith, Vermilion, Alta.; sisters, Linda (Layton) Finley,
Truemanville; Charlene Baxter (Ian Swantee), River John; Gayle (Greg)
Gillespie, Halifax County; brother, Eugene (Elsie) Baxter, Amherst Head;
several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and
7-9 p.m. in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906).
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 12, at 2 p.m. in
Campbell's Chapel with Rev. Steven Longmoore officiating. Interment will
take place in Shinimicas Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in Barb's
memory may be made to the Shinimicas Cemetery Fund, Amherst Head United
