DONKIN, W. Keith - 79, Truemanville, Cumberland Co., passed away Wednesday,
September 12, 2007, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan.
Born in Fenwick, he was a son of the late Henry and Carrie (Dickinson)
Donkin. Keith was well-known in Amherst and the surrounding area as the
founder and owner/operator of W.K. Donkin Tire Ltd. After his retirement,
his interests included woodworking, refinishing antiques, gardening and the
gift of gab. Keith is survived by his son, Eric (Debbie), Fort Lawrence; his
daughter, Darlene Donkin (Walter Osmond), Hillsborough, N.B.; granddaughter,
Hayley Grady, Fredericton; grandsons, Gregory Gaudet, Moncton; Jamie Gaudet,
Halifax; brothers, Ralph (Helen), Fenwick; Paul (Bernice), Sarnia, Ont.;
sisters, Mary Dodsworth, Burlington, Ont.; Mildred McKim, Truro, and several
nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Audrey Allen,
and brothers, Gordon and Sherman. Visitation will take place today from 7-9
p.m. in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906). Funeral
service will be held on Saturday, September 15, at 2 p.m. in Campbell's
Chapel with Rev. Steven Longmoore officiating. Interment will take place in
Truemanville Cemetery. Donations in Keith's memory may be made to
Truemanville Cemetery Fund or the charity of your choice.
