FW: Obit: THOMPSON, Margaret "Marney" [UMLAH]

THOMPSON, Margaret "Marney" - 88, Oxford, passed away peacefully at home
Wednesday, September 5, 2007. Born in Oxford, she was the daughter of the
late Robert and Jessie (Dixon) Umlah. Marney was a school teacher, in the
early years in small one-room school houses throughout Cumberland County,
and later as the French teacher at Oxford Regional High School. She enjoyed
traveling and visited over 60 countries around the world. Marney was an avid
card player and had a love of her cottage at Heather Beach. Marney is
survived by her daughter, Timble (Rod) MacDonald, Oxford; son, Kim (Jeanie),
Salt Lake City, Utah; grandchildren, Shannon (Bob) Oickle, Oxford; Ryan
(Kelly) MacDonald, Halifax, and Bradley Thompson, Girdwood, Alaska;
great-granddaughters, Sidney and Paige Oickle. She was predeceased by her
husband, Malcom "Mac"; brother, Lewis Umlah. Cremation has taken place under
the direction of MacDiarmid's Funeral Home, Oxford (447-2930). A private
family burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery at a later date.
