Obit: SWEET, Edna Loretta

SWEET, Edna Loretta - 90, High-Crest Springhill Nursing Home, Springhill,
Cumberland Co., formerly of Wyvern, Cumberland Co., passed away peacefully
in the nursing home on Saturday, September 1, 2007, with her loving family
by her side. Born in Wyvern, she was the daughter of the late Byron and Essa
Mae (MacArthur) Stonehouse. She spent most of her life in Wyvern. She was a
devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a devoted
member of Collingwood United Church and a member of the UCW Unit 3. The
greatest loves of her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was an avid quilter and enjoyed knitting and baking. She also enjoyed a
good game of rook. Surviving are daughter-in-law, Marjorie E. Sweet,
Springhill; grandson, Michael R. Sweet (Diane), Wyvern; granddaughters,
Wendy C. Kontuk (Hugh), Wyvern; Melanie G. Sarson (Donnie), Collingwood,
Cumberland Co.; great-grandchildren, Mikhayla Sweet, Dylan Sarson, Marley
Sarson, Connor Kontuk; nephew, Harry Curtis, Campbell River, B.C. She was
predeceased by her husband, Levi Hobart Sweet, in 1987; son, Roderick A.
Sweet, in 1998. Visitation was held Monday from 7-9 p.m. in Allen's Funeral
Home, 60 Water St., Oxford. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. today, followed
by funeral service at 2 p.m., both in Collingwood United Church with K. Ruth
Gamble officiating. Interment will take place in Collingwood-Wyvern
Cemetery. Donations to Collingwood United Church Memorial Fund or UCW Unit 3
would be greatly appreciated.
