HATFIELD (Babineau), Louzina - 92, Halifax, formerly of Truro, passed away
peacefully in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax, on Saturday, September
1, 2007. Born in Cape Pele, N.B., she was a daughter of the late William and
Josephine (Cormier) Babineau. For many years she was employed with Canada
Post as a mail driver for Rural Route No. 5. In later years she moved to
Halifax to live with her sisters in Rockingham. She enjoyed bingo games,
puzzles and her weekly trips to the casino. She was a friend to all who knew
her and was always ready to lend a helping hand. She is survived by
daughter, Susan (Mitchell) Yorke, Truro; sons, Harlan (Joan), Carmen
(Vangie), Kenneth (Elsie), all of Truro; sisters, Leona (Hilton) Hatfield,
Jennie Takalo, both of Halifax; Julia Davis, Aurora, Ont.; brother, Gerald
(Joyce) Babineau, Truro; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great
great-grandchild. She was predeceased by husband, Cyril; son, Fred;
brothers, Alex, Emile, Leonard, Edgar, Albert, Laurie, and Joe; sisters,
Melda Lorette and Elizabeth. The family would like to thank her three
special nieces, Joyce (Frank), Freda and Lorena, for the kindness and
assistance they have shown to her over the years. Visitation will be held in
Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, today from 7-9
p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, September 5, at 11 a.m. in
Immaculate Conception Church, 669 Prince St., Truro, with Father Ronald
Cairns officiating. Reception to follow in Campbell Hall. Interment in
Watson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and

Husband Cyril Lawson HATFIELD:
TRURO - Cyril Clayton Hatfield, 64, of Dominion Street, Truro, died Friday
in Camp Hill Hospital. Born in Brookville, Cumberland County, he was the
son of the late Edgar and Vedora (Canning) Hatfield. He was a retired
employee of the postal service. He served with the Infantry in the Second
World War, and was a member of Colchester Branch, Royal Canadian Legion.
He is survived by his wife, the former Louzina Babineau; one daughter Susan
(Mrs. Mitchell Yorke), North River; four sons, Fred, Harlan, Carmen and
Kenneth, all of Truro; two sisters, Camilla (Mrs. Eric MacMillan), Onslow;
Althea (Mrs. Carl Ritcey), Halifax; four brothers, Larry and Allison, Truro;
Horace, Randolph, Mass.; Hilton, Halifax; 11 grandchildren. The body is
at the Kennedy Memorial Residence, Truro, where funeral service will be
Monday at 2 p.m. spring burial will be in Watson cemetery. Members of
Colchester branch, Royal Canadian Legion will conduct a tribute service at
