Obit: Conrad, Lawrence Leslie "Larry"

CONRAD, Lawrence Leslie "Larry" - 87, of Pugwash, born in Dartmouth,
September 6, 1919 passed away peacefully, Friday, August 31, 2007, in
Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. He was a son of the late Freeman and
Mabel (Hubley) Conrad. Lawrence served in the Second World War from
1939-1945, with the North Nova's Canadian Armed Forces. He was one of the
brave soldiers who served in the invasion of Normandy on D-Day. He was a
member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 60, Pugwash. He is survived by
wife, Jean (Bergman) Conrad; sons, Curtis (Maryann), Laurie (Sherry), and
Mark (Brenda); grandchildren, Rick, Kristy, Shae, Lawrence, Adam and Faye;
great-grandchildren, Bryce and Gavin. He was predeceased by sisters,
Dorothy, Barbara, and Golda; brothers, Clyde and Clarence; nephew and
nieces, Paul, Doreen, and Marilyn. Visitation will take place on Sunday,
September 2, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in MacLeod's Funeral Home, River John.
Funeral service will be held in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Middleton, on
the Upper River John Road, Monday, September 3, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bill
Cook officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Lawrence's
memory may be made to The War Amps of Nova Scotia.
