Christensen, Iska Margot
Christensen, Iska Margot - 93, East Wallace, passed away peacefully at the
home of her daughter, Shirley, on August 25, 2007, with many family members
by her side. Born in Bornholm, Denmark, she was the daughter of the late
Almon and Karen Hansen. Her family immigrated to Canada when she was 14
years old and settled in East Wallace. She devoted her life to her family
and they will cherish their memories of the annual Christmas Eve gatherings
at her home. She was well-known for her beautiful flower gardens, crafts,
and amazing cooking. Her door was always open to family, friends and
neighbours. She is survived by daughters, Eileen Doloff, Alberta; Hazel
Kovacs, Ontario; Nancy Mooring, British Columbia; Shirley Purdy (Winston),
Malagash; son, Erik (Sheila), Sutherland's River; son-in-law, Brian Lutz,
East Wallace; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great
great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Hans; daughter,
Helen Christensen-Lutz; great-granddaughter, Myah Brander; brothers, Eric,
Henning "Henry", Hans, and a brother in infancy. In keeping with Iska's
wishes, cremation has taken place. A private committal service will take
place in MacKenzie Cemetery in Malagash. The family will receive visitors at
Iska's home in East Wallace, Tuesday, August 28, from 2-4 p.m. Family
flowers only. Memorial donations can be made to MacKenzie Cemetery or a
charity of one's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Coulter's
