OBITUARY
HIRAM ELIJAH MAHARR, 77, Five Islands, died yesterday in the South
Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Parrsboro. Born in The Cove, Cumberland
County, he had been a resident of Five Islands for the past 20 years.
He is survived by one son, Ralph, Diligent River; one daughter Edith,
Mrs. Earl Hiltz, Dilegent River; one half-sister, Mrs. Edson Quinn,
Harrison Settlement; and ten half-brothers, Harold Skidmore, Toronto;
Burton, Gervin and Kenneth Skidmore, all of Parrsboro; Herbert, Verne,
Henry and Elverton Skidmore, all of Stellarton; Harry Skidmore, New
Canaan; and Harris Beaton, HalfWay River. The body is at the McCulloch
and Patriquin Funeral Home, Great Village. Funeral service will be held
Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Five Islands United Church. Burial will be in
the Five Islands cemetery.
