OBITUARY: Charles E. Hoben
After and illness of several months, Charles E. Hoben died at his home on
Upper Main Street, Parrsboro, Tuesday, February 16th, at noon. The late Mr.
Hoben was born at Diligent River, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hoben.
Following his marriage to Mrs. Laura Skidmore, he moved to Green Hill, where
he operated a farm and eleven years ago, he moved to Parrsboro where he
resided until the time of his death. He was 76 years old. He leaves to mourn
his loss his wife, one sister, Mrs. Randall Merriam, Port Greville and one
brother, Nelson Hoben, Fox River. The funeral was held Thursday, the service
at the house by Rev. E.A. Kirker. Hymns sung were: "Nearer Thy God To
Thee", "In The Sweet Bye And Bye" and "Abide With Me". Interment was made in
the Wharton Cemetery. The pallbearers were: Clarence Guilderson, Hibbert
Brown, Colby Ayer and Percy Sterling. S.W. Smith was funeral director.
