Obit: MANNING, Mildred Elvira May [LADE]

MANNING (Lade), Mildred Elvira May - 85, Halifax. Today, we say goodbye to a cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mildred passed away Saturday, August 4, 2007, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Salt Springs, Cumberland Co., she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Beatrice (Fraser) Lade. Mildred retired after a long term of employment at the IWK Hospital and the old Children's Hospital. She was an associate member of Mulgrave Park Baptist Church and a former member of "Northern Lights" Seniors Club. Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Elwyn, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was also predeceased by brothers, Arthur and Gordon. Mildred is survived by sons, John R. (Debra), Dartmouth; Roy (Wendy), Halifax; grandchildren, Tracy (Karl) Melchior, Keri (Robert) Warwick, and Troy Manning; great-grandsons, Kory and Connor Melchior and Jake Warwick.; great-granddaughter, Madison Mildred Warwick. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. A memorial service will take place 1 p.m. Thursday, August 9, in Mulgrave Park Baptist Church, Rev. Brian Keezer officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Interment to follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
