Lena Margaret Lines -
Lena Margaret Lines age 92, of Amherst passed away suddenly at the West Highland Manor, Amherst N.S., surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 3, 2007.Born in Nappan N.S., she was a daughter of the late Archie and Isabel (MacDonald) Gouchie. Lena worked at the Maritime Pant Factory and Canada Car in Amherst. She enjoyed bowling, cooking for family gatherings, playing cards and spending time at the cottage. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed by all. She is survived by two daughters: June Lines and Pearl Gould both of Amherst; one son: Wayne (Lynne) of Hastings; one step daughter: Louise (Ernest) Landry of Amherst; one brother: Earl Gouchie of Amherst and one sister: Nellie Shannon of Amherst; 22 grandchildren: Brian, Theresa, Michael, Larry, Trudy, Donna, Vicky, Tony, David, Donnie, Fred, Terri Ellen, Bobby Jo, Kelly Ann, Corey, Craig, Judy, Ernest, Billy, Linda, Fred and Stephen; 19 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Lena was predeceased by her first husband: Stanley Legere and her second husband: Fred Lines Sr.; son Fred Lines Jr. brothers: Albert, John and Cecil and sisters: Janet Morris and Annie LeBlanc. Her remains are resting in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, (667-9906) with visiting on Monday, August 6, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with parish prayers at 8 p.m.The funeral mass will be celebrated at the St. Charles site of Holy Family Parish on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 2 p.m. with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating. Donations in Lena's memory may be made to the MS Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
