Obit: NOILES, Florence [SPARKES]

NOILES, Florence - It is with great regret and sadness we announce the passing of Florence Moore Noiles on Wednesday, July 25, 2007, in Centennial Villa, Amherst, surrounded by her family. Florence was born in Sackville, July 16, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Freda (Gray) Sparkes. Florence lived her early life in Sackville working at the Box Factory. She moved to Prince Edward Island in 1950 with her family, moving to Amherst in 1953 where she was employed at various local businesses including Cole's Store (later called Gerry's Superette). She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary 105 RCAF Cumberland Wing Amherst. She was also a member of Main Street Baptist Church, Sackville, N.B., attended First Baptist Church, Amherst, and was a member of the Mother's Association. Florence enjoyed walking, hockey games, her cottage and most of all her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was her family and being the centre of family gatherings. She loved to recall days past. Florence will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her loving husband of 66 years, Earl; daughters, Gini (Pete) Cruikshank, Cape John; Sharry (Jim) Nicolle, Halifax; grandchildren, Kathy (Mike) Cochrane, Pictou; Dana (Lillie) Cruikshank, Lyons Brook; Mark (Cheryl) Cruikshank, Scotsburn; Chris (Kelli) Cruikshank, Scotsburn; Anna (Kevin Murphy) Nicolle, Ottawa, Ont.; Colin (Anne Marie) Nicolle, Halifax; nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law; Mabelle (Jack) Sparkes, Browns Flats, N.B., and Ineth (Charlie) Milton, Moncton, N.B. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brother, John "Jack" Sparkes; sister, Sybil (Paul) Smith, and great-granddaughter, Mallory Cruikshank. Florence was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst (902-667-8777). Cremation has taken place. No visitation by request. A celebration of Florence's life will take place in First Baptist Church, Amherst, today at 3 p.m., Pastor Donald Miller officiating, followed by a time of tea and fellowship. Interment will take place at a later date in Sackville Cemetery. Donations in Florence's memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Atlantic Division, Kidney Foundation of Canada, Nova Scotia Branch, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, or to a charity of one's choice.
