SMITH, Helen Gertrude - 93, Bible Hill, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007, in Townsview Estates, Truro. Born in Salem, Cumberland Co., she was a daughter of the late Edward and Mary Emma (Lowther) Carter. Helen was a seamstress. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by sons, Clayton (Katherine) and Leslie (Sharon), both of Truro; grandchildren, Charles, Tony, Scott, Deborah, Denise, Darlene; 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Clifton Smith; brothers, Russell, Elton, Wylie, Percy; sisters, Mabel, Blanche, Nita. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 1, at 2 p.m., both in Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro, Rev. Ebbie Snow will officiate, with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley. Family flowers only.
