Hi all,
To add to Ruth's concerns about cemetery conditions. I was visiting
Parrsboro a few weeks ago and one of the cemeteries I visited there
was in really bad condition. As you are coming into Parrsboro there
is a cemetery on the left hand side. Most of the cemetery is mowed
and kept up but towards the back it is grown over badly in some
areas and the graves are being taken over by brush. Many of the
stones are in poor condition. It was sad to see this happening. If I
was from the area I would gladly have taken the time to go through
and repair what I could of the conditions around the graves.
Hopefully someone has taken the time to compile the information on
the graves. On a lighter note..I found the cemetery where my great
great great grandparents were buried. I was thrilled to find their
grave and had my picture taken at their grave. I found them in the
Trinity United Cemetery across from the Glooscap Restaurant in the
older section.
