Obit: DUNLOP, Robert Grant "Bob"

DUNLOP, Robert Grant "Bob" - 74, Amherst, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2007, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, surrounded by his family. Born in Maccan, he was a son of the late Girvan and Eileen (DesRoches) Dunlop. Bob worked at Gabriel's of Canada in Toronto for many years returning to Amherst in 1972 and worked for Scotsburn Dairy until his retirement in 1997. He was an honorary member and 3rd Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus in Amherst where he volunteered for years with the weekly bingo. He was a member and usher of Holy Family Parish for many years. Bob was an avid card player and pool player. He was a loving husband, father and proud grandfather. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, the former Dorilla LeBlanc; daughter, Denise (Greg) Smith, Amherst, and son, Girvan (Christine), Amherst; grandchildren, Angela, Emmitt and Hayley; aunts, Ruth Long, Maccan, and Dorothy Dunlop, Maccan, and uncle, Ross (Barb) Dunlop, Chignecto. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst with parish prayers at 8 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in the St. Charles site of Holy Family Parish on Wednesday, July 18, at 10 a.m. with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating. Interment will follow in St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery, Amherst. Family flowers only. Donations in Bob's memory may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Lynda Burke Memorial Scholarship Society or Amherst Branch of the Victorian Order of Nurses. www.campbells-amherst.ca
