question re cemetery locations
I have been using the NS Gen Web pages to locate some cemeteries in
Cumberland County. Most of the maps given have the cemetery locations
clearly marked, but a couple do not. Can anyone help me with directions to
the Oxford Pine Grove cemetery and the Rodney Cemetery?
Also, there are two maps given for Apple River. One map is labeled "1904
(two cemeteries)" and the other "abt 1974 (one cemetery)". The cemetery on
the 1904 map that is not on the 1974 map appears to be Forge or Farge
Cemetery and appears to be on the opposite side of the river approximately
at or near "Turple Hill" - if I am reading the map right. Does anyone know
what happened to the Forge/Farge cemetery? Were the graves moved? Are they
"lost" in over-growth? Is there any record of the people who were buried in
that cemetery? There are no names listed on the GenWeb site.
