SHARPE (nee Duffy), Edith "Bunny" 1923 to 2006

The death of Edith "Bunny" Sharpe, age 83, of Amherst, NS, occurred at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS on Saturday, November 4, 2006. Born in Brookdale, NS, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Beatrice (Gould) Duffy. Bunny served in World War II with the R.C.A.F. as a wireless operator. She had worked for C.J. Hodgson Stockbrokers as a Security Manager then with Deluxe Embroidery Co Ltd. as Office Manager for over 14 years, both in Montreal, and finally with Bluebird Co. Ltd. in Amherst as Bookkeeper and Accountant. She was a member of Saint Charles and Nativity of our Lady Roman Catholic Churches, the Lord Amherst Chapter of the IODE, and the Amherst Business Ladies Curling Club. She was a life member of the Highland View Regional Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She had been a canvasser for the Kidney Foundation and the Diabetic Association. She will be sadly missed by a god daughter Melissa Bird, Halifax, a sister Helen Rowe, Amherst, 2 brothers, Delmar, Charlottetown, and Chalmer, Amherst, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley Sharpe in 2001, and a sister Eileen in 1991. Arrangements are in care of Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St, Amhest, (667-8777). Visitation will take place at the Funeral Home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Parish Prayers will take place at the funeral home Monday Afternoon at 3:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Saint Charles Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 2 pm. Burial will follow in the Saint Charles - Nativity Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation may do so to the Kidney Foundation, the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, the VON or the charity of your choice.
