Obit: CRAIB, Elizabeth Alice [THOMPSON]

CRAIB, Elizabeth Alice - 72, Wallace, Cumberland Co. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth "Liz" Craib on September 23, 2006. Born in Wallace, she was a daughter of the late Mitchell and Edith (Fountain) Thompson. Liz's zest for life was enjoyed by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her love of children was evident in her years as a cook at Wallace Elementary School cafeteria and her attendance at all school events. She was an honorary member of St. John's United Church UCW and Wallace Firefighter's Auxiliary. Liz loved life, and family was her greatest joy. She was the loving wife of Alex Craib; proud mother of sons, Larry (Marilyn), Enfield; Walter, Pickering, Ont.; Timmy (JoAnne), Wallace; Rick (Kathy), Amherst. Her pride in her nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren knew no bounds. She is also survived by her brother, Harry Thompson, Wallace; foster brother, Walter Wheeler, Dartmouth. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her special aunt, Myrta Thompson; sister, Jean Brogan. We know Liz would like to say "thanks" to everyone who has helped in any way over the past year as she greatly appreciated every kind gesture. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today in Mundles Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash (243-2506). The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, in St. John's United Church, Wallace, Rev. Jane Doull officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Wallace River, with a reception to follow in the church hall. Family flowers only.
