Obit: McGRATH, Francis "Frank"

McGRATH, Francis "Frank" - Passed away Thursday, June 15, 2006, in ProTem
Residence, Mountain Road. Prior to living in ProTem, he lived in Camden
Place. Frank was born in Oxford on April 5, 1916, the son of Edward and Mary
(O'Toole) McGrath and husband of the late Mary Catherine "Kitty" Cheverie.
He was employed for 43 years with Imperial Tobacco and lived in Sydney, St.
John, New Glasgow and since his retirement, in Moncton. Frank lived a very
active life up until the last few years. He was an avid hunter, gardener,
and sport enthusiast, a hockey player in his younger days and a curler,
golfer, and lawn bowler. He was a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus at St.
Augustine's, a 50 year member of the Maritime Commercial Traveler's
Association, and a member of the United Commercial Traveler's Association, a
past member of the Lakeside Golf Club, Centennial Lawn Bowling Club, and
Moncton Curlers Association. Frank was a devoted family man and loved to
spend time in the Pictou area of Nova Scotia where he attended school and
had many fond memories that he shared with his children. Frank is survived
by his daughter, Sharon (Murray) Lloyd, Shediac Cape; sons, David (Carolyn),
Pugwash; Greg (Mary), Halifax and Vancouver; grandchildren, Cathy Lloyd
(Peter Cumming), Suzanne Lloyd and Peter McGrath (Ying). He is also survived
by his sister, Joan Walsh (Bill), Saint John, N.B.; brother, Harold McGrath,
Moncton; several nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his special
friend, Irene Doucet. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife,
Catherine "Kitty" in 1989; brothers, Gregory and Edward, and sister, M.
Constance Baird. A special thanks from the family to Kristie Bitcom and
Patty Roache of Camden Place for the extra special care that they provided.
Resting in Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St., Moncton, with visitation
on Sunday, June 18, from 7-9 p.m., and Monday, June 19, from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
The funeral mass will be held in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Falkland
Drive, Moncton on Monday, June 19, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Old
Shediac Road Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart and Stroke
Foundation of Nova Scotia or the memorial of the donor's choice would be
