RCMP recruit training on March 1 and will be posted in Newfoundland.

A shower and banjo was held in North Wallace on March 12 for newly-weds,
Mr. and Mrs. Jim OXLEY.

Thursday, March 14, 1946.

A disastrous fire was narrowly averted last evening at Kenneth Gordon's
big chicken house. Sidney THOMPSON noticed a sudden blaze of flames as
he drove by around 8 o'clock. John HEWSON also noticed the flames on
driving by. Both stopped and spread the alarm, and Mr. GORDON, with the
assistance of others, extinguished the flames before firemen arrived.

Died - Mr. Leonard BLAIR, 73, Oxford, March 8.
Died - J. Trueman STEEVES, a former Pugwash banker, March 10.
