CAMERON (nee Landry), Joan Marie May 27, 1945 - July 25, 2004

Joan Marie Cameron age 59 of West Brook, N.S. passed away peacefully Sunday, July 25, 2004 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Center, Upper Nappan, N.S. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of Jessie (Rector) Landry of Amherst and the late Hermie Landry Sr. Joan worked for five years at Canadian Tire, Amherst retiring due to ill health. Her fellow co-workers also became her extended family. Over the years Joan served as a Sunday school teacher, volunteer tutor with Adult Literacy and was always ready to reach out to others in need. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by her loving partner Frank Mitchell, two daughters Bonnie Smart of Vancouver, B.C. and Kimberly DeLeavey of Fredericton, N.B., two sons Colin Smart of Scotland and Kevin Cameron of Riverview, N.B., beloved sister Marilyn (Allan) Hartry of Ottawa and beloved brother Hermie (Pat) Landry of Amherst, proud grandmother of DeAndre DeLeavey and niece and nephew Jill Hartry and Constable Corey Hartry. Cremation has taken place. Her family will receive visitors at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.with the Order of Eastern Star Service at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at 2 p.m.from the Southampton United Church with Rev. Danny Compton officiating. Interment will take place in the Maccan Cemetery.
