McBURNIE, Jack Lyman - 76, 190 Old Tatamagouche Rd. Ext., Onslow Mountain,
Colchester Co., died February 7, 1998, in Colchester Regional Hospital,
Truro. Born in Tatamagouche, he was a son of the late Sydney and Mary
McBurnie. He was a veteran of the Second World War. He was a truck driver
most of his life, working for Spencer Bros., Truro. He is survived by his
companion, Vera Conrod; daughters, Pearl (Mrs. Phillip Miles), Carol Ann
(Mrs. Jack Blair), both of Alton; Catherine (Cathy) (Mrs. Dean Ettinger),
Petitcodiac, N.B.; Patricia (Mrs. Curtis Lemon), Bible Hill; sons, Jackie
and wife Pat, Harmony; Randy and wife Gayle, Onslow Mountain; Terry and
companion Kim, Salmon River; Michael, Onslow Mountain; sister, Dorothy
Langille, Calgary; caregiver, Jody Hutt; several grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Marjorie
Evelyn Reade; son, Gary; several brothers and sisters. Visitation will be
7-9 p.m. today, legion tribute service conducted by Royal Canadian Legion,
Branch 26, Truro, 7 p.m. today, both in Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro, from
where funeral service will be 2 p.m Tuesday, Rev. Gordon Sutherland
officiating. Burial at a later date in Belmont Cemetery. No flowers by
request. Donations may be made to the veterans' ward at Colchester Regional
Hospital, Truro.
