Cormier



Doing hubby's genealogy lines in Cape Breton and running into a
connection to Cumberland County.
Have a Mrs. Jennie Joanne aka Jane Long - Born February 16, 1898 -
Died July 30, 1986
Does anyone have anything on her parents and siblings other than
what's in the obituary?

Mrs. Jennie Joanne Long, 88, a resident of Northside Guest Home,
North Sydney, died Wednesday in Northside General Hospital.
Born in Joggins, Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late
Jude & Sarah {White} Cormier.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, Bras d'Or.
She is survived by a son:
Emerson, Port Hawkesbury;
four daughters:
Esther {Lala}, Mrs. Elias Jessome, Mill Creek;
Dorothy, Mrs. Joseph Carey, Bras d'Or;
Sarah, Mrs. Gordon Day, Port Hawkesbury;
Muriel, Mrs. Robert Carey, Florence, Cape Breton;
a step son:
George, St. Catherine's, Ontario;
a step daughter:
Elizabeth, Mrs. James MacIntosh, Sydney Mines;
two sisters:
Mrs. Ada Hoeg, Joggins; and
Mrs. Nellie Dewilde. Toronto;
a brother:
Wilfred Cormier, Toronto;
57 grandchildren, 100 great grandchildren and many great great
grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, George;
a step daughter:
Margaret Murphy;
five brothers:
James,
Charles,
Lawrence,
Albert and
Thaddeus;
two sisters:
Clara and
Annie.
The body is in G. R. Francis & Son Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.
