New Horizons, the drop-in center for retired people, was officially
opened in Pugwash last Friday afternoon with about 50 Pugwash area
seniors taking part.

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Eric ISENOR, Pugwash Rd., was badly damaged by
fire last Saturday.

As a memorial to the late Harry TREEN, founder of the Oxford Pine Grove
Cemetery, the lot where he is buried will be made into a flower garden.

After being manager of Superline Service Station at South Oxford for 21
years, Bliss BROWNELL has given up his position. The Superline Station
has been leased by Eldred PATRIQUIN of Streets Ridge.

The old George GILROY house off Water Street, owned by Mrs. H.A. AMOS,
was destroyed by fire on May 3. The house formerly owned by Mr. and
Mrs. Bickford WOOD was also practically destroyed by fire early this
morning. Both houses were unoccupied.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, son of the late John and Ann BUCHANAN. Wife
- Elizabeth WORTHINGTON. Son - John. Predeceased by siblings - Bessie
and Babs; Archibald and Douglas.

WAVROCK, Charles Joseph, 89, Oxford, Saturday, April 30, 2005. Born in
Strathcona, son of the late Joseph and Rosie (CHESAL) WAVROCK. Wife of
52 years, Dorothy Frances (STEWART) MACLEOD. Children - Douglas and Paul.
Siblings - Mildred, Agnes, and predeceased by Frances and Anthony.

GAGNON, Jean "John" Jacques, 72, Pugwash, Saturday, April 30, 2005.
Born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, youngest of nine children of Isaac and
Lordanna (THIBIDEAU) GAGNON. Special friend - Mary DOYLE. Child -
Christiane. Siblings - Ghislaine, Emery, Gilbert, and predeceased by
Martha, Jean, Jacqueline, Marcel and Norman.

RUSHTON, Paul Michael "Mike", 40, Westchester, Thursday, April 28,
2005. Born in Tatamagouche, son of Jean (ADAMS) RUSHTON, of Parrsboro
and the late Milton RUSHTON. Siblings - Heather, Sandra, and Glen.
