MATTHEWS, Marion Frances - 83, St. James Street, Springhill, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2005, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Nappan. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Daniel McKay and Alice Elizabeth (Newman) Foster. Marion was employed as a Registered Nurse for 40 years in All Saints Hospital, Springhill. She was a member of All Saints Anglican Church, Springhill and enjoyed her card club, shopping, friends and especially her grandchildren. She is survived by daughter, Carolyn (John) Merrey; sons, Daniel Matthews, Thomas (Judy) Matthews and Alan (Kathy) Matthews, all of Springhill; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; special cousin, Ruth Smith, Athol. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Bedford Matthews; brother, Earl Foster; sister, Margaret Harroun. Visitation will be held 1-3 p.m. Friday, April 8, followed immediately at 3 p.m. by the funeral service with Rev. Frank Likely officiating, both held in A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, at a later date. If so desired, donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
