There are so many places, of cours the Nova Scotia Archives in Halifax is one choice,but most people miss the tremendous records and helpful staff at Colchester Museum and Archives in Truro (closed Mondays)
There are records in the Cumberland County Museum and Archives in Amherst, but they are much less and not as well organized. Local members on this site can better tell you what records the Cumberland County Genealogy Society now has on hand
I will leave better details on all to members living locally (I live in Mississauga, Ont but travel each year to Parrsboro)
