MacLEOD, Mary Kathleen "Kay" - 86, 20 Tantramar Place, Amherst, formerly of Walpole, Mass. and Springhill, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2005, in The Moncton City Hospital, Moncton, N.B. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late William R. and Mary Hannah (Neilson) MacDonald. Kay moved to Boston in 1962, retiring to Amherst in 1979. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards, cooking, preserving, friends and family. She is survived by sons, Herbert (Deanna) MacLeod, Amherst; Billy (Pattie) MacLeod, Norton, Mass.; daughters, Carolyn MacLeod, Springhill; Claudia MacHarrie, Burlington, Mass.; brother, Jack (Marjorie) MacDonald, Springhill; sisters, Annie Ellis, Parrsboro; Dorothy (Joseph) Chambers, Tidnish; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughters, Marion and Rebecca; brothers, Archie, Desmond and Harold; sisters, Jean and Florence. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, in A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 24, in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Springhill, with Father David MacDonald officiating. Burial in the church cemetery, North Street, Springhill, at a later date. Donations to Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of choice would be appreciated.
