THOMPSON, Marion Etta - 81, Amherst, formerly of Little River, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, in Gables Lodge, Amherst. Born in Westchester Station, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Zillah Margaret (Ferdinand) Adams. Marion was a devoted member of Little River United Baptist Church and Ladies Circle. She enjoyed picking strawberries and blueberries. Marion will be remembered as a kind and compassionate mother to her family. She is survived by her husband, Morley; sons, Robert Chisholm, Shelburne; James and Arthur, both of Pugwash; daughters, Jean (Willie) Blake, Dartmouth; Paulene Thompson, Pugwash; Mary Chisholm, Oxford; grandchildren, Ruth (Morris) Hill, Kitchener, Ont.; Jane (Phillip) Watson, Dartmouth; Mike and Trevor Brown, both of Dartmouth; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, John Chisholm; brothers, Frank, Ira, Albert, and Edward; sisters, Annie Adams and Bessie Akin. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home, 5075 Main St., Oxford (447-2930). Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 4, in Little River United Baptist Church, Rev. Connie Stewart officiating. Marion's family would like to thank the staff at Gables Lodge, Amherst for their compassionate care. Donations may be made to Little River United Baptist Church or charity of choice.
