OBIT - MCKENZIE, Margaret, 1940
OBITUARY
Springhill, Dec. 14 (Special) - The death occurred at the home of her
sister, Mrs. Charles Pippy, on Thursday evening of Miss Margaret
MCKENZIE, well known and highly respected resident of this town. She
was 72 years of age and had been in failing health for some time. The
deceased was born in Pictou and came here many years ago to reside. She
was a woman of fine christian character and friendly disposition and was
a member of St. David's Presbyterian Church as well as a faithful member
of Lady Minto Rebekah Lodge. She leaves to mourn her passing three
sisters, Mrs. T. Oulton and Mrs. Chas. Pippy of Springhill and Mrs. W.
Milburn of Sydney, and one brother, Chas. T. McKenzie residing here.
This is the third member of the family to pass away within the past
year, two sisters having predeceased her within that time. The funeral
was held this afternoon with service taken by Rev. M. Y. Fraser of St.
Davids Church, and interment in Hillside Cemetery. The large profusion
of floral offerings testified to the high esteem in which the deceased
was held in this community.
