Paul CHRISTENSEN of Gulf Shore fell in his woodlot on January 4,
fracturing his hip.

Thursday, January 11, 1945.

The CNR is erecting a new water tank at Oxford Jct. The big tank which
will have a capacity of 50,000 gallons is replacing the present one on
the short line below the station. It will be situated on the hill in
front of Mr. Nick WHALEN's home.

During the gale last week, one end of Stewart WEATHERBEE's barn at South
Victoria was blown in.

Carl DEWOLFE, youngest son of Mrs. J.A. DEWOLFE and the late Mr.
DeWolfe, has recently been promoted from the rank of Lieutenant to
Lieutenant Commander. Carl has been serving with the RCN since the
outbreak of the war.

Councillor Chandler SMITH was appointed Warden of Cumberland County at
the session of the Municipal Council, succeeding Warden A.L. MATTATAL.

J.D. MCGREGOR, station agent at James River for several years, has been
appointed agent at River John.

predeceased by Roger.

KENNEDY, Charles F., 90, Pugwash, January 14, 2005. Born in Murray
Harbour, PEI, son of the Nelson and Isabelle (HAYDEN) KENNEDY. Wife -
late Frances AULD. Children - Violet, John, Annie, Lorrie, Lewie,
Roger. Siblings - Lilla, and predeceased by Hector, Nelson, Willard,
Rhoda, Bertha, Wilhelmina, Louise, and Violet.

FAHEY, E. Jean, 80, Mount Pleasant, Thursday, January 12, 2005. Born in
Little River, daughter of Wilfred and Alda C. (BAIRD) WEBB. Husband -
late H. Alonzo "Lonnie" FAHEY in 2004. Daughters - Alda Carole and Sara
Lonna "Sally". Siblings - Ronald, Kenneth, and predeceased by Marion
in childhood.

LANDRY, Pauline Mary Alice - 84, Amherst, Wednesday, January 12, 2005.
Born in Amherst, daughter of Benjamin and Lucy (PORTER) BAIRD. Husband
- late Robert W. Children - David, Paul, Mary Lou, and predeceased by
son, Robert F. Siblings - Jean, Barb, and Helen.

BIRD, Stanley Watson, 88, Springhill, Saturday, January 15, 2005. Born
in Southampton, son of Wesley Watson Sr. and Florence (BROWN) BIRD.
