ADAMS, Zillah Marie - 86, High Crest Nursing Home, Springhill, and formerly of Southampton, Cumberland Co., passed away on Friday, February 4, 2005, in High Crest. Born in Southampton, she was a daughter of the late Jack "John" and Ivah (Brown) Winters and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She worked at the Southampton Store and as a logging camp cook. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and ceramics. She is survived by her sons, Ralph (Sharyn) Adams and Keith (Linda) Adams, both of Southampton; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh Adams; brothers, Clair, Jack, Rexford and Myron. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today in A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, with Rev. Danny Compton officiating followed immediately by a reception. Burial in Southampton Cemetery, Cumberland Co., at a later date. Donations to Southampton Cemetery or charity of choice would be appreciated.

ADAMS, Hugh David - 87, Southampton, Cumberland Co., passed away on Friday, November 26, 2004, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Nappan. Born in Southampton, he was a son of the late John Robinson and Caroline Amelia (Lepper) Adams. He served overseas with the Canadian Army during the Second World War. Most of his working life was spent as a heavy equipment operator and in the maple sugar woods. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge No. 54, Southampton and Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 17, Springhill. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Besides his wife, the former Zillah Marie Winter, he is survived by sons, Ralph (Sharyn) Adams and Keith (Linda) Adams, all of Southampton; brothers, James (Nellie) Adams, Westville; Gerald (Marie) Adams, Parrsboro; Harold (Queenie) Adams, Dartmouth; sisters, Anna MacKenzie and Hilda Adams, both of Port Mouton; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Cecil and sister, Mary. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. today in A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, with Rev. Marion Lloy officiating. Burial in Southampton Cemetery, Cumberland Co. Donations to Southampton Cemetery or a charity of choice would be appreciated.
