Peels of NS

Sharon,
I don't know of any connections in Eugene but might have data to share with
your friends. My husband's branch of the Peel family moved from Springhill
Nova Scotia to Alberta in 1909. Some of the relatives went to California and
some returned to Nova Scotia.

Effa SCHURMAN raised by Peel relatives near Oxford, NS was one of the first
family members to collect the names of cousins.

Nancy PEEL married a ship captain HOLT and went around Cape Horn to
California. Their children crossed by land with a grandmother on one of the
early trains to Utah.

Collected family history of Cumberland County since 1969 and I still have no
proof of the parents of the Peel brothers who settled there about 1818.
First cousins married and moved to USA after the 1881 census. One of the
descendants in Utah supplied their story. -- Elizabeth
