RE: > Diane, Where do you get the 1827 and 1791 census information from? Is
this available electronically?
Hi Steve,
I did a web page Alpha Surname index of the 1791 Census for Cumberland
County and Brian posted it on the Cumberland County Genweb (Also Poll Tax
records, lists of Town Officers and 1763 Records for Township of Cumberland
and many other files of nscumber members are available there).
[Note: The 1791 Census is actually the 1791 Poll Tax Records but for this
NS time period, it is all that exists for Census Type Information for NS.
(The records are on Microfilm .. I know they are at Mount Allison as I used
them when I did my transcription.... however I have not used other microfilm
souces, other than Mt. A.)

LINK to click-on transcriptions of the existing Nova Scotia 1791-1795
Capitation and Assessment Tax Rolls. Use caution here as there are errors.
... if you find someone, it is best to also check against a microfilm record
of the original.

LINK to go even further back for NS 1770 -1787 Census info, online
transcripts at:

LINK to the page which lists all NS Census records by County , the Microfilm
Number and where you can get them:
(Census records for Nova Scotia are available on microfilm through the LDS,
the AGLL and PANS)

Trust this will be of some help in your family search.
If you think this would be of help to new members on the list, feel free to
forward this email to nscumber. (Those of us who have been kicking around
nscumber since 1999.. sometimes forget about new members)
