Repetto's of Parrsboro?

Subscribers:

Is anyone on the list researching REPETTO of Parrsboro? I accidentally came
across Stephen Joseph Repetto's obit. today at PANS and believe his m/1,
Mary Lena Parker's mother was Irene Hattie Winters who may possibly died in
childbirth.

I'm interested in the 3 children of m/1; Gerald W. Repetto and the 2 unnamed
Repetto daughters who predeceased him in his obit.

Thanks in advance for any help.

PARKER, LENA, age 18, S, living PARRSBORO, born PARRSBORO, d/o OSCAR & JANE

Mary Lena Parker was born 2 Jun 1894 and living with her father and
grandparents on the 1901 Parrsboro Census. Mary Jane Anderson who married
Oscar Parker in 1900 is not on the 1901 Census a year later?

Oscar Parker m/2 Mary Jane Anderson on 14 Jun 1900 in Cumberland County.

PARKER, OSCAR, age 27, W, living PARRSBORO, born BLANK, s/o CHARLES & NANCY
Married 14 Jun 1900 Cumberland County, N.S.
ANDERSON, MARY JANE, age 18, S, living HILLSBURN, born HILLSBURN, d/o ISAAC
& ELIZABETH

If Mary Jane Anderson was Mary Lena Parker's mother, she would have to have
been about age 13 when she got pregnant with Mary Lena; but not impossible.
Oscar then married Mary Jane 6 years later???? I feel Irene Hattie Winters
was Mary Lena Parker's mother who may possibly have died of childbirth. Mary
Jane Anderson is Mary Lena Parker's step-mother, not mother and the only
mother she may have ever known to list her on the Cumberland Marriage Index.

OBITUARY: Stephen J. Repetto
Parrsboro - Stephen J. Repetto, a highly respected and well known resident
of Parrsboro, passed away at Camp Hill Hospital in Halifax on February 3,
where he had been a patient since October.
Born in Genoa in Italy in 1886, he was one of six sons of Guissippi and
Bella Repetto. At the age of 14 years he sailed from Italy as a seaman on
the Italian barquentine "Beatrice Benvencutto" and visited ports in Turkey,
Africa and Buenos Aires, then came to New York, and from there to Stoney
Creek, Albert County in the Province of New Brumswick where he left the ship
to make his home in Canada. He made Parrsboro his home port and in 1909 took
the position of steward on the S.S. "Prince Albert" of the Minas Basin ferry
service, then in command of the late Captain Holmes.
In 1912 he married Mary Lena Parker, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar
Parker and she predeceased him in 1918. From this marriage there is his son,
Gerald W. Repetto, now with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in
Moncton and two daughters who predeceased him.
Mr. Repetto was a veteran of both World Wars, serving with the Princess
Louise Fusiliers from 1915-1918 and from 1939-1944 with the Royal Canadian
Artiliary in Canada.
In 1920 he married Annie Germaine of Montreal, who predeceased him in 1927,
and the following year he married Annie Keddy of Parrsboro who with a son,
Lloyd and a daughter, Mona Repetto, both at home, survive him.
In 1923 he returned to Parrsboro and operated a restaurant. In more recent
years he owned and conducted a grocery business on Main Street until ill
health forced him to retire a year ago. A brother, Angelo Repetto in Genoa
survive him.
The funeral service was held from St. Brigid's Church on Saturday morning,
with Mass celebrated by Rev. J.P. Hayes. Interment was made in the family
lot in St. Brigid's Cemetery. The pall-bearers were members of Branch No. 45
of the Canadian Legion, of which the late Mr. Repetto was a member.
