Thank you ....I will try to identify where I obtained Parker. The Keiver/Keefer spelling I did play with but could not sort that one out at the time.......bliss

Hi Bliss and others,
Oh to be in Cumberland Co. on a day like this when the sap is running. I
can almost smell the steam rising from the evaporators!
Thanks Bliss, for the information on the family of John George BROWN. I
will make some comments but not all at one time and I'll likely have some
more questions. I'll start with Parker MORSE. I have him as Robert
*Parker*MORSE. (death cert. and 1901 census- last name spelled MORS)
married
Josephine Keefer BROWN .April 3, 1884 in Amherst. I didn't have Ethel May
but knew there were infants who died young. Here are more of the children:
John G. b. Feb. 24, 1885
Essie E. b. Oct. 17 1887
Jessie E. b. Jan. 9,1888
Albert *Yorston* b.Jan. 30 1889
Caroline Lawson b.June 22, 1890
Dorothy b. 1893
Carmen Thomas b. Sept. 16 1898
The dates could be open to corrections.
Keefer is a curious name. Is anyone familiar with it as either a first or
last name? Here is a tidbit to keep in mind in case another name turns up.
Witness to Josephine's marriage: Solomon KEIVER. In Pictou Co. we would
pronounce that ~ki-ver~ but if they pronounced it~kee-ver~ ... it's awfully
close to Keefer isn't it? Just a thought- I'm not suggesting we change her
middle name.
Regards,
David
