James (1) BROWN of Yorkshire, 1774
Does anyone have further info on the children (below)??
______________________________________________________________

James BROWN was a Yorkshire Settler arriving to Nova Scotia in 1774. From
existing passenger lists for Yorkshire Settlers we find James BROWN listed
as a husbandman at age 17, a passenger on the ship "Two Friends" which
arrived in 1774.

James BROWN was the son of Richard & Esther [UNK] BROWN of New Malton,
Yorkshire, England, according to data found on his marriage registration in
the Southampton Township Book and also the writings of Thornton LODGE in his
HARRISON Family Genealogy. It is not believed that his parents ever lived in
Nova Scotia.

James BROWN was granted the Lot # 5 at the Southampton Yorkshire Grants and
on 28 February 1782 at Maccan and married Sarah HARRISON daughter of John
(1) & Sarah [LOVELL] HARRISON also Yorkshire settlers to Maccan, Nova
Scotia .

We determine that James BROWN is the first of the name in Cumberland County,
Nova Scotia for this BROWN YORKSHIRE family so he will henceforth be noted
as James (1) BROWN of Yorkshire.
