BROWN - STRANG Connections
With all the BROWN messages on the list these past couple of days, I
thought I would include some BROWN connections to the SRANG family I am
researching. Most of the following came from The Valley of the Remsheg
or History of Wallace Bay by H R Brown.
1. Henry Brown (b.1821 d.1875), son of Isaac Brown and Mary Peers, m.
ca Mar 1844 (Marr Lic 21 Mar 1844 Pugwash, NS) Elizabeth Strang. Their
children were:
2. Daniel Brown (b.1844 d.1896) m. 28 Mar 1865 Great Village, NS
Susan Strang/Strong.
3. James Gilbert Brown (b.1846 d.1922) m. Susan Webb.
4. Mary Susanne Brown (b.1849 d.1903) m. Robert Houston (b.1830
d.1887).
Henry Brown m. 2nd ca 1860 Margaret Wells (Strang) Rix (b.3 Jun 1819
d.18 Mar 1906), dau of Daniel Strang and Susan Chappell.. They had one
child:
5. George Henry Treen Brown (b.1861 d.1934) m. Olive Matilda <UNK
Last Name>.
2. Daniel Brown and Susan Strang/Strong had a least one child:
6. Etta Brown (b.20 Jul 1866 Westchester, NS d.21 Jul 1896) m.
William B Strang.
Now, my problem is that, except for Margaret Wells Strang, I have not
been able to place Elizabeth Strang, Susan Strang/Strong or William B
Strang into my Strang family tree.
Daniel Strang who m. Susan Chappell was son of Jesse Strang and Sarah
Wright and he moved from Bedeque, PEI to Baie Verte, NB and than later
to Pugwash, NS. So Elizabeth could be their dau and sister to Henry's
second wife Margaret Wells (Strang) Rix, but list of children of Daniel
and Susan pasted down in a Chappel family history includes a Eliza Ann
who married James L Crawford but no Elizabeth.
Likewise, Susan and William B based on family names could fit into the
Daniel Strang and Susan Chappell line, but with the limited information
available it would ony be a guess.
If any Brown researchers can add to this branch (aside from the data on
James (2) and Mary (3) in the Remsheg book) I would appreciate receiving
that information, especially any clues for the parents of Elizabeth
Stran, Susan Strang/Strong and William B Strang.
TIA,
Arthur
